Azra and Zunaid had their Nikah (muslim wedding ceremony) at the Gatesville mosque in Cape Town. It is such a beautiful place full of design, texture and light. It is always such a privilege to see glimpses into other traditions and peoples lives, I feel so much richer for it. The ceremony part of a muslim wedding day is a mixture of emotion happiness for a new married life and sadness of leaving home. Both families are very close. Azra’s family with 3 beautiful sisters and parents that love them very much and Zunaids parents and sisters. There were lots of tears shed, both happy and sad. Thanks to Andre van Niekerk for shooting the male part of the ceremony and my assistant Christene De Coning.

Great photography Lauren, highly emotive!
My absolute favourite is the one of Azra & Zunaid meeting for the first time as husband and wife, so so beautfiful! I pray Allah keeps you both this happy (and more so!) always, in sha Allah.
